The ESRC funds studentships for doctoral study in the 30 pathways at our six institutions.

Please ensure you familiarise yourself with any internal preliminary deadlines set by your institution or department to receive your application for your MSc or PhD as this is a separate application process from your ESRC studentship application.

The closing date for the preliminary applications is Monday 15th January 2024 (23:59 GMT)

We hope to inform candidates who are successful at the preliminary stage by early February at the latest. The full application stage will open after this date. 

The deadline for the full application will be Monday 4 March 2024 (23.59 GMT).

Successful candidates at the full application stage will informed of the outcome of their application in the summer term 2024.
